Reply from Preston re: photo disk
Preston,
Thanks for the reply! I'm a little jealous, I just moved back here after
living in LA for four years, and I haven't been able to make it back yet.
We do have a pretty extensive shot list, so if there is a way that you
could copy the disk or send us the one you have (which we will promptly
return as soon as we pull the photos we'd like), that would be ideal.
In the meantime, we are pulling the bitmaps from the current site and
supplementing them with the environmental shots Dr. Fishman took during
her visit. This doesn't give us the image quality that we'd envisioned,
but it will convey our design aims then different photos can be included
later.
If you are able to send the disk, please address is to:

Thanks again and have a great day!

Email to Preston, re: Photos
Preston,
Shannon has been in contact with Vinny and one of his responses is included below. The photo situation is as follows: Vinny has the photos archived on film and on proof sheets. If we had a budget for prints we could get those, however, that really would be a waste since we only need the digital images. As you will see, he indicated that digital images were provided for the press on CD and that the disk exists at the O'Neill somewhere.
Do you know anything about this disk and could you obtain it for us?
Also, we are aware that you have been involved in conversations with the Content Team (represented by Kelly) regarding staff bios. We are going toneed staff photos for the personnel for whom bios will be written. Thanks for your help and we look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Shannon, You need to shorten you request list and choose what photosyou definitly are going to use and I can make prints to scan them. Youwill want to contact the p.r. person from last summer, John Pike. I shotalot of digital>photos for the press and burned them on to discs. The O'Neill has thosediscs and alot of other photos you need in their file. I think Courtneyat the center could direct you to John and the photo archives.>Vinnie
Email 2 & response from Vinnie
Dear Vinnie, Thank you very much for getting back to me yesterday. I am so determined to have contact with you because we have less than one month until our semester is over which means we have a deadline to finish the ONeill website by then. What would the process be to get the photographs digitally? We would just be scanning them into the computer and adding them into the template we have designed for the site. I understand you probably have the film and negative sheets and a negative scanner to do jobs like this, but I know it's time consuming. As a class we do not have any funds, but there is a possibility that we can ask the ONeill for money for the prints, even though we'd simply be scanning them in. Just let me know!
Shannon

Hi Shannon, I got your list and your call today. I do have some of the photos
on the list
They are on proof sheets and need to be enlarged. I don't think you can scan
the proof sheet photos directly. They're too small with dust on them. I will
send another e-mail along with the ones I do have. Do you have a budget for the
prints?
Let me know. I'll send you that list.
Thanks, Vinnie
Email to David re: "Get Involved" section
Dear David,
We are here at Clemson University working on the website redesign for the O’Neill Theater Center, and we have just a couple of content questions for you. (I hope we don’t make you sorry that you offered to help us!) J
First of all, it would be very helpful to us if you might be able to send us a run-down of the directors of the entire Center as well as each program, institute, conference, etc. We understand that your organization has recently undergone some changes in leadership, and we want to make sure that we provide accurate information on the new site. It would also be helpful to know the difference between any different types of directors that each program may have.
Secondly, we would appreciate clarification of the costs and logistics associated with specific programs the O’Neill offers. If you have available a list of the various programs, who is eligible, how they apply, and what they will need to pay, that would be extremely helpful. If no such compilation is available, then our main question is regarding the accommodation arrangements for the Trustee Residency and Educator’s Observership. The current website is a little confusing on this subject. The text mentions that participants will be required to stay on campus and eat on campus, and then it mentions that the fee includes all costs except accommodations (but does include meals…)
We look forward to receiving any information that you can send us on these subjects.
Thank you for your willingness to help us create this website, and we look forward to presenting you with the final product!
Sincerely,
Lauren McLaughlin, Lucia Welch, and Joanna Wiley

Third Email to Preston-Content Group
Preston:
Hello again. We have some more work to do for the content part of the project. We need the email addresses for all the people in the biographies. We need Tom's last name and we need a biography of you, Amy and Tom because we don't have any information available. In addition, we need those updated pictures you requested. But we can ask the people we email. Thanks for everything.

Reply from Preston-Second Email-Content Group
Kelly:
David B. Jaffe – this should be updated, and with a better picture. You can contact him at
dbjaffe@thoneill.org
Paulette Haupt – the content in hers is great as is.
Pam Arciero – her bio is fairly fine, but can we correct the quote mark and apostrophe issue?
Dan Sullivan – looks great as is too, though we on our end should find a more up-to-date picture of him
Sally Pavetti – bio is fine as is
Lois McDonald - fine
Puppetry did began in 1991.

Second email to Preston-Content Group
Preston:
Just to recap on the biographies of the people, I just want to confirm the people that are on your website. We need to have an order of importance so we can get done the main people first and work our way down. THis is what we have so far:
Sally Thomas Pavetti
Lois Erickson McDonald
Dan Sullivan
David B. Jett
Pam Arciero
Paulette Haupt
Just let me know if you want all of their biographies revamped. Also, shoudl any of these members be ommitted? Are there any members that should be added? In addition, just number the importance so we can start. It's not to offend anyone in particular because everyone is important. But we want to be able to write about the main people first. Thanks for your time.

1. Who can I talk to about Eugene O'Neill? We want to write a biography of him and we need to find a person who can tell us some more information other than what the internet tells us.
Wow. I have several that might work. Your library may have a copy of Arthur Gelb’s expansive biography on O’Neill. This is probably the greatest single source of information, and would have everything that anyone could tell you. Gelb is a great friend to the Center.
2. We want to designate a part of the site for special alumni. It will be a "hall of fame" for the O'Neill Center. Who can we contact about the alumni? Who can tell us about some famous people who may have went to your center?
Not sure we’d want to do this. We need to talk on our end.
3. Who can we talk to about places of important on the O'Neill campus? The Monte Cristo house is included but we want to include more information about the campus.
Great idea. Either myself or Sara Qua, Development Director can help you with this. Ask away.
4. Have the directors featured in biographies on the site changed?
Most definitely yes. Amy is still here, as is Tom. Richard’s needs to be revamped, as his position has changed. Also, I will be added to the list as well.
5. What is the best method of contact? (phone, email) When is the best time to contact? Who do we contact?
Email is great, though I’m happy to talk on the phone. Tomorrow is no good for the phone though. Thursday or Friday might work. 860-443-5378 x215
6. What is the cost of each of hte conferences and institutes?
I don’t think we want to highlight this. Let me get back to you.
7. Whenw as the O'Neill Puppetry Conference started?
I believe around 1990/91. I will have to double check. Give me till Thursday on that.
8. Did the Music Theater Conference start in 1978?
Yes.
9. What are the specific awards given to the music theater conference?
The Holof Award is given to the best Lyricist in the Music Theater Conference.
